KUKLJICA - ISLAND UGLJAN
|

is the most developed tourist and fishermen'village on the island of Ugljan and the ideal resort for those who want to escape from urban enviroments.
It is situated at the southeastern end of the island, near the crossing Ždrelac.
Kukljica, a friendly island village with app.700 inhabitants, is a well-known fishingport.
Both sides of the village are suitable for swimming.
On the side that faces Zadar, you will find ZELENA PUNTA (dense pinewood) and KOSTANJ (sandbeach), while on the other side (facing Dugi otok) there are sandbeaches SABUŠA (famous for its healing mud baths), JELENICA (naturist beach) and a small island called KARANTUNIĆ.

«Zelena Punta» offers a vide variety of sport activities (tennis, bocha balls, minigolf, tabletennis) and other activities such as padelboats, motorboats and windsurfing.
Kukljica can be called the gateway to the Telašćica Nature Park and the Kornati National Park for it is located at the island's extreme southwestern point, close to the Ždrelac channel.
In recent times it has become a beloved tourist destination, especially for navigators and excursionist.
Kukljica has a wellknown «Feast of Our Lady of the Snow» with the boats procession from Kukljica to the Church of Our Lady of the Snow in the Ždrelac straits,where according to the legend, snow fell in the middle of summer four hundred years ago.
